 Seymour
Carpet and Furniture is a family-owned furniture and floor covering
company that has served Northeast Michigan since the early 1960's.
Located 1 mile north of East Tawas, Michigan on East US-23, we proudly
serve the Tawas, Oscoda, and the Iosco County area along with all of the
counties in Northeast Michigan (including Arenac, Alcona, Ogemaw, and
Alpena to name just a few).
The Seymour Family first moved to the Tawas area in 1947. Don Sr.
installed flooring in our area for almost a decade before buying our
first building in 1970 starting Seymour Carpets. The tiny 884 square
foot area gave a public face to our budding carpet retail and
installation business. Don Sr. and a helper did all the installation
work while his wife, Grace Seymour, kept all the books. In the early
1970s, we expanded our business to include furniture.
Don Seymour, Jr. started installing floor covering in the early ‘60s and
took over the family operation in 1977. His highest priority has always
been to uphold our family tradition of honesty and integrity in the
floor covering and furniture business ever since.
There are now three generations of the Seymour family that have been
raised in our area and have worked at Seymour Carpet and Furniture. The
once small 884 sq. ft. showroom has blossomed to over 25,000 sq. ft. of
showroom and warehouse space. We constantly are told by our customers
how surprisingly large our showroom is! We are certainly much larger
than we look from US-23.
 Our
once tiny operation has evolved into a large carpet and furniture
showroom that can provide almost every style of carpet and furniture
product imaginable. We make it our policy to only carry quality
affordable furniture, flooring, mattresses, home accessories, and window
fashions. Our dedication is to customer service; Satisfaction with all
of our products and service is our top priority. This reputation has
been built over 40 years of working with our community and we will
preserve our standing by ensuring that our quality is superb and our
reaction to all problems will be swift and complete. We will continue to
ensure that our service is second-to-none.
